happy go lucky

i saw this film for the first time a few nights ago. i LOVED it!
it’s definitely helped me to keep my head on the last few days; what with J’s 21st, christmas and going home for the holidays, it is hard to keep on top of work, but it’s put everything into perspective.
i love my course; why are people so eager to rush everything?! life only happens once!
and for once, the fact that i can’t get out of bed means i just have to get on with work… i never thought i would find something useful out of this illness.

i also have very happy news today, for 5 weeks next year, i get to do my work placement at Lowie, home of my favourite knitwear designer!

and i would now like to spend every single evening there! what an amazing idea.
i am now thinking of ways to lure my friends into going with me. they even do parties, check it out!

sketchbook

it feels a bit weird uploading my own work- especially when the photos don’t show my work how it really is!
so, i dug out my little black book, which unfortunately hasn’t had much attention lately (note to self: put something new in there everyday!) and scanned in a few of my pages.
they aren’t fancy or particularly interesting, but i love having a place to just scribble, doodle, and stick in anything i like- it’s like this blog, except i can carry it everywhere!

trend forecasting

here are some (crappy) phone photos of a project i have just given in where we had to create 3 trend boards.
there are only photos of two of them, as one was presented using a light box…but hopefully i will get better photographs of them all in a few weeks.

this one is based on a burnt down psychiatric hospital in epsom. the doors all open, behind which you can see photos of the different rooms in the hospital.

and this one is about hand-made processes; the idea of collage, layering and creating things that are individual to each personality in a child-like way.
